The Challenge:
SeaLink SEQ wanted to engage an a swift campaign to boost visitor numbers and drive local families to North Stradbroke Island. Square One designed a three month campaign to leverage sponsorship arrangements and create a low-cost, high-impact media stunt.
Solution:
Square One PR conceptualised Brisbane’s first ever floating “Big Bash” and managed to secure Brisbane Heat to attend a media call and roll out the green carpet, with the women’s team launching the First Nations uniform onboard the SeaLink ferry. We had 6’ers flying, and the Mayor onboard, with all the assets in place to produce a one-of -kind media call! We also had the local nippers come to the ferry for a seperate media call with Courier Mail to highlight the volume of local nippers who travel to the island each summer!
Results:
All major TV news stations ran footage from the Big Bash event and Courier Mail ran a full colour pic on page 9, plus we secured the opportunity for a regional database collaboration with Brisbane Heat members. The activation also went live across Brisbane Heat’s socials and player accounts, which all combined saw a 1.3M reach right in the target location, with an advertising equivalency in excess of $320,000. With key stakeholders in attendance, the event was a huge success. https://squareonepr.coveragebook.com/b/c072f9df6b633ab0
